Knick of time

New York shook off their bad habits just in time last night to shake off the reigning NBA Champions and NBA MVP.

It was an inspired performance, but it seems like one they gave just for the sake of the eyes of the basketball world and of...Bill Clinton. That night at midnight Van Gundy witnessed them turning back into "The Knicks" (the ones who lost to Chicago).

During the eleven minutes he played, Kobe kept dumping the ball into Shaquille O'neal. He did take 4 shots and didn't score, but he wasn't bluffing when he said he would've found a way to get the ball at the end of the game(sorry Chad Ridgeway, your team was fat and happy from the start of the season, and not getting hungrier for a title).

With The Lakers down by one and seconds left the Lakers called a timeout during which The Diesel asked for the ball. When play resumed Superman was smothered by a couple of Knicks and point guard Derek Fisher ended up taking an off-balance shot that hit the backboard. Ball game.

Light here and run

"Once again cousin Carter, I have bettered you". Well Tracy McGrady didn't say such, but it's true he played well enough for his team to walk away with the victory, no matter who else was a factor in the game.

Vince Carter not getting a foul called on that 3-point attempt, when the Toronto Raptors were down by 3 with seconds left, will stir him - the whole Toronto squad - to come out harder against the Orlando Magic next time. The ref just added some gas to a spark.

Let's see if this rivalry finally lives up to its top-billing.

Yes T-Mac they wouldn't boo if they didn't love or want you back. They even gave you the perfect nickname.

Self-betterment

Rasheed Wallace is in the record books, he has beaten out the Legendary and future hall of Famer Charles Barkley, and former all NBA blue-collar player, Bad Boy, and rebounding King Dennis Rodman by boldly going where they have not gone before.

'Sheed has broken his own record of 38 technicals from last year with his 39th technical of the season in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves which the Portland TrailBazers lost.

He improved on that record with his 40th technical also in the same game, which sent him early to the locker room to celebrate his latest feit.

The best sir Charles and The Worm ever did was 32 each, and we thought they were bad.

When you actually start thinking about it, for someone to break that record, they would need at least one technical in every other game of an 82 game regular season. Can you imagine being pissed that many times?

With an attitude with highs and lows like and elevator(man), a bad reputation with the refs and a game to match, it's one of many things this power player does that just makes us wanna say "We love you Rasheed". Even if we only mean it when he's on the court hitting game closing baskets.
