Kobe is hard pressed to prove to himself and everybody else that the Lakers can win when he's The Man. He's hurt? Well the best time to prove he can be a leader is now, with Shaquille O'neal out of the line-up. This just came in for Kobe: From every center and power forward in the league we wish you the best and our hopes are riding on you...Don't Blow It or our backcourts will take care of you. Big men all over the NBA hope shaq doesn't return to last year's form, and if #8 doens't live up to his self created hype he will be at the mercy of opposing backcourts. Last night's line 44 points 9 rebounds 5 rejections 2 assists.

It was Vlade's birthday yesterday. But after digesting Chris Webber and Rick Adelman ripping into them because of a game they almost gave away, none of the Kings were hungry for any of the 2 cakes in the locker room. "We can't feel sorry for a team. Nobody felt sorry for Sacramento before we got here, did they?" were some of C webb's words. Wizards general manager upon hearing this might wonder aloud why Webber never saw things that way while in the District -one of the top market cities. Oh well what's done is done.

In completely unrelated news to basketball, Puff Daddy is being sued by a talent agency for signing the pop music group (yes POP) "Dream" to his label Bad Boy. The agency claims it discovered the singers first. Apparently Puffy is all about whatever racks in the loot. Indeed it's all about the benjis.

Actually as a parallel, Rick Pitino claims he's the one who first discovered Dirk Nowitzki by running him through work-outs back in his native Germany. It's like going 10 for 10 at the charity stripe during the game but missing the 11th attempt which would have won the whole thing. It brings everything down to null.

It doesn't matter who first discovered the diamond, the only thing that matters is who it shines for.
