<< Back Next >> -------------------- March 12, 2001 Titles: Talk is cheap HoopsTV.com Iverson's final answer? Sixers Celtics Well...it's a business Magic Defenders against defending champs Sonics-Lakers Knickerbockers heat up Miami Heat-Knicks Talk is cheap. Today I was navigating around the Internet to see if I could find out whatever happened to one of my beloved basketball sites, hoopstv.com (I have them in my links section-it'll soon be removed) Well apparently it seems the company which sponsored them Footstar Inc. has been loosing loot faster than 'Sheed getting emotional. The site was mainly hip hop inspired, well all of basketball now is hip hop influenced. They had the daily smack column from the "Smack Gods". I was hooked on like Van Gundy to zo's leg. Oh well, been fun while it lasted. One time they made fun of Converse because it was going out of business. Who's in the gutter now Smack Gods? Iverson's final answer? The critics are finally seeing daylight, there was no way a guy out of the norm was going to be the poster child of this league. Last night against the Celtics Allen Iverson got a harsh reminder of just how hard he works and pushes himself, when he didn't return to the game after getting a hip bruise. With all the injuries A.I has played through this season, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to this one, especially with the playoffs fast approaching, and him needing to be at his best. The Answer was injured but Mutombo had all the answers to the Celtics during the game. Mount Mutombo erupted for 18 points, 22 rebounds and 4 swats. He also had 8 turnovers but for the sake of the win let's pretend he didn't. Well...it's a business First it was John Starks in the 96-97 season, and now Doc Rivers says next year it will be Darrell Armstrong. Crowd favorites are just that, the home team fans' favorite player, they're not always the best player on the team. When the coach wants to win he goes with who he thinks is the best for the job. In '96 Allan Houston signed as a free-agent with the New York Knicks, prompting Jeff Van Gundy to make his then starting off-guard and Garden beloved John Starks the sixth man. He turned out to be the best from the pine that season. According to the Orlando Sentinel Doc Rivers plans to bench Magic crowd favorite Darrell armstrong in favor of Grand Hill come next season. Grant will man the rock with the T-Mac Attack in the backcourt. Defenders against defending champs. No one wants the Lakers as their ideal opponent, but the Sonics wish every team matched up against them as well as the reigning champs. Seattle has won the season series against the lakers four zip. Now if they can make the playoffs. Knickerbockers heat up Miami Knicks win. This one was typical of the playoffs, where the heat win the first and a half quarters, only to have the Garden Crew rally and beat them at the end, in a not so pretty finish with constant fouling in the last minute. << Back Next >> Back to archive Back to top
