<< Back Next >> -------------------- March 26, 2001 From Nets to Riches? Rumors have it that Jason Kidd might be shiped off to New Jersey for Stephon Marbury. The reason being that Stephon dribbles too much for the Nets' taste, and the Suns' fans didn't appreciate Jason Kidd's hands-on approach concerning familal problems. Betting games If you've seen Vince Carter recently you've surely noticed his knee-high socks, Jerome Williams' trademark. Air Canada and the Junkyard Dog had a bet of some sort and apparently Vinsanity's part of the bargain crashed. Speaking of betting Karl Malone bet rookie Deshawn Stevenson that he will not shave his bear before the Jazz's first playoff game. Stevenson is backing up his prediction with $200 a week and other players have taken on the mailman pitching in $100. The mailman holds all the cards here. If he decides to keep it, he gets a nice chunk of change. On the other hand he can be sure D-Steve and the others want their deliveries express mailed. To us the glory Last night was the last game between the Vancouver Grizzlies and the Toronto Raptors. If the Grizlies end up moving then it was the last inter-Canada NBA game (at least until another team settles there). If Michael Heisley bolts town for greener pastures (money) the Raptors will be the only team in Canada. All the Canadians will be supporting them (at least those interested in basketball). If Vince Carter stays he might get enough votes to consitently start in the All-Star game. Even when he's 37 and feels ice packs more often than the ball. Think about it Vince. Oh yeah and if you change your citicenship to Canadian you might become the most popular guy in "hey" land. On the other hand there's that guy... a certain Wayne Gretzky. << Back Next >> Back to archive |
