Pierce here for award

Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics has won the player of the week award. He thought he should have won it a week earlier.

The Celtics had submitted Pierce as a candidate for the weekly honor the week before after he broke out with a pair of 40-point games. Yet the league snubbed him and picked Cuttino mobley (who was also deserving) instead.

This time everybody was happy. Since the All-Star game, Antoine Walker - who's also been snubbed for the award before - and Paul Pierce have been on a schooling rampage, breaking down everyone they've been matched against. Mainly that was their reaction to not being invited to display some of that Celtic pride in Washington DC.

Cloud over Nuggets

George McCloud had all the Denver Nuggets covered. The veteran somehow found room do dish out 22 dimes against the Chicago Bulls last night.

However he could have recorded more. In 41 minutes, Calbert Chaney of the Nuggets recorded 1 point 1 assist and 4 rebounds. Talk about being under the weather, it was too (Mc)Cloudy for him to see the rim. The Nuggets won this one in overtime 109 104.

Unleash the Truth

The Philadelphia 76ers know their Answer to the equation for winning. After double checking for four games, they now know it was The Truth from the start.

Allen Iverson, A.K.A 2K1 MVP, scored 36 points and also played cops and robbers with Milwaukee's players for 6 steals as the sixers won in Philly.

The sixers unleashed the Truth to the public, but Milwaukee Bucks coach George Karl, leashed The Big Dog to the bench the whole fourth quarter. It might have been because of his 5 turnovers in the 3 previous quarters. But I say you still need The Big Dog to bark at people in the yard.

This days it seems like Rafer Alston is getting some run time. Rafer also known as Skip to my Lou, is also the first player from Rucker Park, New York to make the NBA. He was a legend there, but this is the NBA. Skip was a favourite of the now defunct hoops site Hoopstv.com. I think they've been covering him since his days at Rucker. He had a chance last night to strut his stuff: 13 minutes, 6 points, 2-3FG 2-2FT.

Goin' South o' the borda

The Vancouver grizzlies have announced that they have picked Memphis, Tennessee to move to. Now The Ruler David Stern himself and his suits have to approve the deal.

Just as Michael Heisley thought he will finally make some loot, the Charlotte Hornets are also thinking about moving to the same city, because they're competing with Duke and North Carolina basketball programs for profit.

Do these teams know what's going on? Now there's going to be 2 teams competing for the smallest market in all the NBA land. Doesn't that bring them close to ground zero, as in no progress was made? Guess it's better than the KFC proposal though.
