We want Whang ! ! !

Wang Zhizhi, the Chinese basketball player the Dallas Mavericks had drafted in 1999, was presented with his jersey today in China in the presence of Mavericks coach Don Nelson. He's planned to begin playing on April 5 against the Atlanta Hawks.

Now Dallas will have 2 towers to take care of the center bill. And speaking of the "bill" is Wang aware that if he outduels Shawn Bradley in practices and outperforms him in game he could be living large? Does he know Mark Cuban is all about the dollar bills?

He probably knows he doesn't have to be that good to make his pockets larger than Derrick Coleman, or deeper than the Blazers.

Billion dollar game

The two teams with billionnaire owners - not to mention rich enough to buy the whole league - met last night in Portland. People might not notice, but the The Dallas Mavericks do also have a deep roster.

They might not get a lot of attention about their roster like the Portland Trailblazers, because most of their players haven't actually made the All-Star game. They have 4 players with star power in the starting lineup - everyone except Shawn bradley. On the bench they have Howard Eisley, who was a more than solid backup for John Stockton in Utah.

Well this is March and under dogs everywhere celebrate it like there's no tomorrow. That said, the Mavericks won 94-84.

Rasheed somehow has put an end to his technicals since he tied his own record of 38. The man can control himself. It was all about the attention huh 'Sheed?

Fan mail

I found out about Mark Cuban's email address in a magazine. I have emailed the man, but no answer. He probably gets a thousand a day, but come on this is from the editor of THE HOOPSCORNER.

Wanna see if you can get the billion dollar reply? Be my guest, mark.cuban@dallasmavs.com. Let me know about your results.
