The reason for the non-existant update of yesterday, is I took time out to honor the Sixers for their great season in case they went down 3 to 1 in Toronto. Fortunately they didn't. So back to business

Tinsel Town greed

After Jamal Mashburn swept the Heat he passed the broom to Shaq (as Chad Ridgeway had put it) to sweep the Blazers. Instead of keeping the chain going, he and Kobe have locked it in a safe somewhere using it for their needs only. San Antonio could've have used the broom on Saturday.

Well they're greedy all right: for glory, for power, for wins, more wins, and rings. Yes despite it all.

Kobe had predicted this aftermath from the beginning. He had said they'd be sweeping teams in the playoffs this season, no 6th and 7th games.

What's next for C-Webb; "So Spree wannna show me your favorite restaurant after practice?" Jason Williams might bolt or be shipped off. Turkoglu's rise is coming slowly but promptly.

2 tough at the hive

Charlotte has evened up this series at 2 games apiece, in other words it's a 3 game series now.

With all the good headlines he's racked up from me, I thought I had given Jamal Mashburn enough love and credit, so no reason for another one. But the man was everywhere on the court like the white towels in the crowd. He scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

It was still an all-around effort however. The Baron (Davis) went for a stroll in the pockets of Milwaukee's defense for 6 steals, and satisfied the begging hands of his teammates with 7 assists, . He himself was good for 18 points. Elden Campbell had a double-double with 12 and 10, and P.J Brown grabbed 13 rebounds.

A game 6 is guaranteed. George Karl had his 50th birthday spoiled, and he will have to come back here after he told his players he didn't want to.

The win Philly built

The Sixers won but it had to do more with the Raptors and Carter shooting bricks and stiffling defense. Iverson shot plenty bricks too but he shot enough times - 30 - to make sure some needed shots would go in.

Philly built this win out of brick shots, but just like bricks, it was a solid victory.

Iverson: 10-30 FG, 30 points. Carter: 8-27 FG, 25 points. The Air Canada Centre's crew is repainting both rims.
