Lackluster display

Philly got the first win in the series this time, but there was a lot of toiling - especially with Iverson.

The brand new reigning MVP toiled with his shots almost the whole game. You gotta wonder what he's thinking when he seems to see a lid on top of the tin.

That wasn't the Answer's only woe. During the press conference you could tell English, Oral communication or Speech didn't figure in Iverson's class schedule during his lifetime as a Hoya.

A.I couldn't say a whole sentence without including "...you know...". Where did you find the vocab needed to make a whole album Bubba-Chuck?

Speaking of classes can you enlighten us on your former star's supposed major Coach Thompson?

During the game Tim Thomas was being guarded by Matt Geiger at one point. Amazing how Milwaukee didn't recognize that mismatch often enough. If you had decided to focus on just those two, you would've thought Thomas was the best player on the court.

Thomas was reminded that him not being part of the Sixers anymore is not the only thing different with the team. In-your-face shot-blocking specialist Deke now rents the paint(house).

When he drove to the basket for what could've been a dunk, Mount Mutombo suddenly appeared and stuffed him - that one was hilarious.

Yes Tim the days of Matt Geiger as the center bill's main option were over long ago. How do you like the new security system?

Not game related, but like all the other predicted award winners on the Philly squad, Larry Brown has finally gotten hold of the Coach Of The Year award.

Western show

Out West the Lakers are seemingly unbeatable, but the Spurs have too much pride to allow a sweep.

This is the marquee matchup and it earned that reputation, but it's not living up to its top billing - so far.

Like the Los Angeles Times puts it it's not the Classic we expected : "They don't make classics the way they used to, either. After two games of that battle of the Western Conference titans that everyone had been waiting for, etc., we're missing one titan".

Once again the Spurs will not go down swept. I think they'll win at least one in L.A
