Philly's stake

When Iverson came back from the injured list he brought along the magic of a 7 game winning streak. Since then Philly as looked as mediocre is can be.

Against the Grizzlies, they didn't have Iverson, but where's the pride? Including last night's game the've lost 5 games in a row and are now at 8 and 12 in the standings.

Should a defending conference champion roam the NBA landscape with no aura of sense of esteem? I mean they stole one from the Lake show.

At their current rate, teams won't even get that rush or intimidation when facing them. The attention and respect teams should derive from their presence would have also served as motivation for them to only deliver excellence.

Getting to that stage requires a mindset, the winner's mindset. It's easier to acquire that mindset when you have the tools the Sixers dispose of.

Last year's run was improbable, and unless this year is anything clost to the last, it might be taken as a fluke. Nothing has been accomplished so far, yet they will be seen as pretenders unless they rebound from this slump.

Ill resolutions

After the Cleveland Cavaliers waxed the Denver Nuggets, Van Exel decides he wants to be traded, because he's tired of losing.

Nick you had it all a while back ago. Shaq wanted the scoring title you wanted the assist title. It was all good. You just had to argue with the coach, then yell out "Cancun" during a playoff practice to blow it all off.

No respite for the halfhearted......, on the other hand, skilled employees are always on demand.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas since his return from injury has had his minutes ranging in the teens, yet his scoring has been in double figures. Coach Lucas hope you're taking notes. And that's 2-0 since his arrival.

Il goes for 10 and 7 on 3 points of 8 rips in 15 minutes, Chris Mihm the starter collects 4 and 9 rebounds on 2 of 10 shooting in 20 minutes.
