His Excellence...

Last night the president from the Nation's Capital, welcomed the fine citizens of Memphis, to one of the great Nation's great past times.

His presence packed the house, and the Wizards' president of basketball operations wouldn't disappoint.

MJ who only played 31 minutes displayed some of his Chicago Bulls move we're accustomed to. The matchup that was supposed to be wasn't though. Kwame Brown on the injured list didn't get to go against Shane Battier. MJ himself covered him.

Has there ever been an overall # 1 pick shelved the way Kwame is? Only Jordan could do this to a # 1 pick and not expect him to think he's being undevalued. We know he's not really hurt Michael, put him on the floor and let's take a peek and maybe poke at his game too. Let's hope he just turns into what Jordan forsees.

The other Wizards' draft pick, Brendan Haywood was King of the paint. Snatching 15, rejecting 4 and dropping 17. He plays more like the way some might have expected Kwame Brown to be. Brendan, just don't turn into Marcus Camby, work on some post moves.

Richard Hamilton scored 30 and Jason Williams had 17 and 11 but the executive was getting his fair share of cheers.

16 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, modest but that's all that was needed. 3 straight win for the Wizards, and standing at 8 and 12. I doubt MJ has given up on the concept of a playoff appearance.
