The Charlotte Hornets succeeded in selling out the Charlotte Coliseum. Too bad more than half the fans were there to see Michael Jordan.

But the Hornets wouldn't be outdone. They couldn't show themselves to be so hapless as to loose in their first, and maybe, only sell out they might have this season.

As the fourth quarter rolled around, Charlotte, switched to the 2-3 zone alignment. They clamped down on Jordan and co.

Baron Davis dished for crucial baskets, despite a leg injury, and then nailed the big one himself.

MJ's shot got hot later on to neutralize the zone but it was too late.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Charlotte's Bryce Drew, and D.C's Tyronn Lue were going at it. None of them wanted to be shown up by the other. It was like they forgot there was 8 other players on the court with them.

End result Charlotte 99, Washington 93. charlotte has 6 Hornets in double figures. Elden Campbell 17 and 13 rebounds, Baron 15 and 15 assists. MJ 28.
