They lead early on, just like Philly against L.A on Christmas day. But in the end Utah just closed shop on them, just like L.A against Philly on christmas. About that Bonzi Wells article with 'unpretty' remarks about fans in Sports Illustrated...On his lone made field goal out of 8 attempts, the fans didn't hold back their cheers. He was hailed as loudly as they cheered any Blazer that night. We can't say he was wrong in the SI article, just brutally honest. When he was injured, he got booed, when he's able to play he's cheered. If he had scored, say 20 in the fourth quarter you could bet a few fans would fetch themselves a Bonzi Jersey before heading home. In the same way Latrell Sprewell is the fan favorite in New York. And don't forget, I am a fan. Incompatible goods? Tonight the Sixers are set to face the Nuggets. Mutombo's first NBA team. He might get an eye sore just from seing someone else as coach and not Dan Issel. The deal with the Sixers is that they're supposed to be good. One fact everyone tends to ignore - knowingly or unknowingly - is that all the trades they made, have accumulated to turn them into just a mediocre team. It could be so, or just their lack of effort. If they never turn their season around though, the above statement would have to be considered a truth. Finally grounded Air Jordan has been grounded. For real. Michael Jordan scored only 6 points while loosing to the Indiana Pacers last night. You know Reggie Miller had been wishing for such an occurence. Just not this late in their careers. The last time he scored under 10 points was in 1986. If memory serves well, I think back then his minutes were being monitored, since he had just come back from a foot injury. A streak of 866 games of ten or more points broken. Who's likely to break that? A few candidates in order of capability: Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady. Realistically it must be known that, it's a long shot for Kobe, yet the best asset by far. << Back Next >> Back to archive Back to top
