Our bout on the star squads. Which All-Star team has the most deserving players? It's a knock out.

Titles on this page:
Brand new star Elton Brand
No Piston power Jerry Stackhouse. Pistons-Raptors
On Slam Dunk predictions Slam Dunk

Brand new star

Shaquille O'Neal as last year, is once again out of the All-Star game - toe problem. And just like last year we're sure none of the East centers would mind him excusing himself.

What was expected is now a reality. Elton Brand of the Clippers is the replacement.

With each and every single achievement of Elton Brand, Tyson Chandler has to expected to accomplish double - you know, interest on investments. They were traded for each other.

Indeed it's a blessing for Elton. What's next the playoffs or the improbable second round?

And we thought our man Vlade would figure in there somewhere.

No Piston power

Vince Carter got injured in the Raptors' game against the Spurs, which Toronto still won 80-74.

A spot being vacant on the East All-Star roster, we thought the logical choice would be...the man who should be there. No not MJ he's already in.

We don't know what the league has against the Pistons but Jerry Stackhouse should be getting the nod as Carter's replacement.

It's where he started out and it was Stack's house before it became Iverson's playground. On top of that his team is winning.

Maybe the NBA's decision was strictly marketing related. They selected Baron Davis (the show North Carolinans would some time regret missing if the team departs). The Baron of Hornetsville is now the glimmer of hope for the league to showcase the Hornets to Charlotte fans.

Nonetheless Jerry Stackhouse deserved to shine.

On Slam Dunk predictions

After giving our thoughts on who would win the Dunk contest (January 31rst), some people just wouldn't agree with us. We've been particularly getting lit up about predicting that Stevie Francis would finish last in the tournament.

Our reasons are: 1) Steve Francis is a great leaper and all, but he has been having a migraine problem lately, 2) he's also playing in the All-Star game, in Philadelphia, where he will be matched up against Allen Iverson who might have a big game (we doubt The Answer asked Dr J his retired number for the game just to have another typical showing).

We love Wink (Terps baby!) but he didn't deserve to start, but he is. He can't have everything all the time can he?
