<< Back Next >> -------------------- January 10, 2002 Preying bees The word ouf of Charlotte is that the Hornets are looking to get Elden Campbell into the All-star game. Baron Davis says, "he's playing better than any center in this conference, none of them can match up against him right now." That's arguably right but truth is, it takes more than all of Elden's current attributes to appeal to the fans. Baron, you had more appeal in your second year than Elden Campbell has had in his career, or will ever have. He can hunt and prey on an all-star appearance all he wants but the best bet is to hope the coaches notice him. Yes you truly are good, but gotta tell it like it is El. Even if how it should be makes you warm and fuzzy inside. But it's about how it is, not how it should be. The only matchup we wanted to see in this Hawks-Hornets game might not materialize this year. Kukoc versus Lynch. George Lynch is still sidelined. Forget an explanation why those two, we wrote a whole article about them. Baron Davis, 20 and 11 assists, Elden, 22 and 13 rips. On the Hawks side, Abdur Rahim 20 and 9 rebounds. Our man Kukoc had 11 points and 7 rebounds. If the final score is any indication Atlanta didn't care to keep the Hornets from preying on them. 111-87 Hornets. << Back Next >> Back to archive |
