<< Back Next >> -------------------- January 22, 2002 The zone! (of complacency) The Knicks have really outdone themselves. And it's gotten to the point where the diehard fanatic can no longer bottle up his frustrations. I mean they won 50 games a couple seasons ago with about the same lineup. Other teams have improved on their weaknesses, but there's just got to be more left in their tank. Picture Patrick Ewing in the same age class as the team's current stars. Would you doubt that he'd do better with the same cast? New York badly needs some big bodies but this lineup is still capable of achieving respectable levels. Even if Brad Miller escaped the truth on Shaq's fists, as often does the league also, I only want the truth, and nothing but the truth. The truth on the Knicks. Yeah it hurts but I'll fathom it. Without much illusion, the search for truth has brought me on a delicate topic. Can it be...gasp!!! It hurts to even think about. Yet here goes. Are the Knicks preparing the path to a lottery selection? I mean are they dogging the games hoping for an upcoming rookie stud? Last night in New York, the Baron Davis' troops - the Hornets - marched over the Knicks 111-68. Latrell Spreewell's point total was indicative of the number of playoff rounds they might clear this season. << Back Next >> Back to archive |
