Which All-Star team has the most deserving players? -------------------- January 31, 2002 34,000 deliveries Never mind that people could be sporting NBA Championship rings without ever recording a single basket in the league. Karl Malone has 34,000 and counting, and still is delivering baskets with his ringless fingers. Against the Chicago Bulls last night, his free-throw in the last 2 minutes of the fourth quarter did it for him. He has earned his dues and no matter how he finishes his career, his niche is carved in stone in NBA ranks. His selection to the All-Star team has been questioned again this year. We'll make a change and be on Malone's side. Yes he's past his prime, but if the young guns are really that good, in time they will get their dues. Simple as that. Right now he should get all the praise he can be given, because we might never get another durable and tenacious player as him. It's only right that we recognize and appreciate him when the time is right. Forget the elbows, the kicking, and the shoving for once, and give respect where it's warranted. The dunk Mr Stern, we knew you just wouldn't let us down. We thought you had forgotten about the dunk contest. We really did try to enjoy the last one but it was hard, especially since they were missing so many dunks. Oh you've made an effort to make it better? You were able to get us Steve Francis on the show this time? Jason Richardson too? What can we say, you really are The Don. Next year though, whatever it takes to get Kobe, or any of the Lamar cousins, DO IT! Who's going to win this year's dunk contest? We can only take an educated guess. #1 Desmond Mason #2 Jason Richardson #3 Gerald Wallace #4 Steve Francis << Back Next >> Back to archive Back to top
