6th man King?

Michael Jordan as a reserve on any basketball team would speak in direct proportion to the ability of the starters. Well at least it should.

During MJ's absence it's no doubt that Cory Alexander has raised his game up a notch and has been invaluable. But as this is the stretch run of the season...Doug Collins I mean he's only the best player and game closer of all time. Don't you think you should get him his spot back. Do you think he would've came back if he couldn't hold his own?

Isn't this the one who beat a hungry team while on his sick bed? Does he need to pay dues to earn his starting spot?

Coach Collins we're almost certain you never thought you'd be in this position either. Now you won't even pay your respect to the "Jordan Mystic" and just let our man roll with the first five?

Truth is if the Wizards really are to get back to playoff contention Jordan has to be in the best position to help them. In this case Jordan helps best by starting the game. He gets to feel the tone of the game as it develops and down the stretch he's aware of the mentality of the players.

Not so when he's on the bench. Sure he claims to be seeing a different view of the game, but since that game in 1986 where he came off the bench, he has long been aware that the bench view is not the best view.

Big Body

Detroit's Ben Wallace or Big Body as teammates call him, has just guaranteed that whoever is named defensive player of the year aside him, isn't deserving.

Last afternoon, in Auburn Hills, right outside of Motown, Ben revved up his engine for 28 rebounds, and 6 blocks against the Boston Celtics. The offense didn't go bad either as he had 13 points.

His rebounds total is the best in the NBA this year. Detroit wins over Boston, strenghtening their position as the East's second seed.
