Paul Pierce loves making his shots easy. 5. Jerry Stackhouse is still not a big time player. 4. Baron Davis looks forward to more fans cheering in New Orleans. 3. Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant need a workout. In the finals. 2. Shaq meant he wanted Kobe to be the MVP...of the finals. 1. Kobe Bryant will be the 2002 playoff MVP. There you have it, our 11 statements regarding the playoffs. Heartbreak Sincerely from the bottom of the San Antonio Spurs' fans' hearts they probably genuinely thought their team would have this one locked down. Throughout the game Tim Duncan was the Most valuable Player he was recognized as. For Kobe Bryant however it seemed like the basketball was outsized for the rim. He was clanking, and Shaquille O'neal just isn't himself right now. As the saying goes it's not over until it's over. When it was about to be over, the tide turned. TD wasn't the MVP anymore, his teammates apparently wanted to share the limelight and started taking it on themselves to score. That's when the sleeping giant came alive. KB awoke from his "sleep". We're unable to recount exactly what he did but every crucial shot was there. Including a game sealing putback off a Derek Fisher miss. Lakers win 99-89 and lead the series 3-1. It just isn't working for the Spurs. They're not at the level of the Lakers. It's all about more than talent. Tim Duncan should get a little more emotional on the court, it will rub off his teammates. That's one of the intangible things we'd wish for him. Kobe struggled throughout the whole game yet his teammates still rallied behind him for the finale.
