<< Back Next >> -------------------- November 21, 2001 Addition by substraction "Stack is that the outline of the Spalding logo in your hand?" Jerry Stackhouse handled the rock a lot last season. Maybe too much. He handled much, therefore scored, passed, and even lost it much. He had to. This year though Big Cliff is in the Palace, and the royal spoils have to be shared. Last night Cliff hung 22 on the Raptors, on the way to a win. Stackhouse was happy to give up leading scorer duty for the night since he recorded only 19 points. He might not have been happy, but 5 for 20 and still see a cool W in the column? What could there be to complain about? The Pistons are starting to look like a legitimate winning team. Stackhouse is scoring less but they're winning more. Not to mention giving less rope on defense to opponents. Now that it seems like they're a good team, it wouldn't be much to ask for a '01-02 Iverson-Stackhouse matchup. After all it would only be fair. Truth is that no matter how good they become Stackhouse will pass as a reserve on the all-star team for a few years if the current crop of swingmen in the East are still around. << Back Next >> Back to archive |
