<< Back Next >> -------------------- November 27, 2001 Clutch this!! Jason Williams was always thought of as a good talented player. In fact he was lottery pick even though his little huffing and puffing habit was well known. That tells you how good he is. Yet he was shipped out of Sacramento because he wasn't a solid fourth quarter performer. Mainly his defense was being publicly crucified by all who cared to be heard. Last night he wasn't the one needing to be defensive. His strength - offense - was well focused for the fourth quarter against Sacramento. He scored 8 points in the part of the fourth quarter reserved for clutch players, the last 2 or so minutes. So what if he only made 7 shots out of 23 overall? He dished out 13 assists and also had 4 steals. The guy Williams was traded for? Mike Bibby: 20 points, 11 assists, and 8 for 19. Solid. Great win for the Grizzlies especially in front of the home crowd, but Sacramento's trade is still good by any standards. Mean while the duo will keep making sure no third party spoils its interests. << Back Next >> Back to archive |
