<< Previous Next >> -------------------- January 23, 2003 Too much Magic After finally wrestling the 'W' away from the Chicago Bulls (94-91), you would have thought the Orlando Magic were the losers at the TD Waterhouse Centre last night. T-Mac left reporters hanging in the locker room, while coach Doc Rivers suggested that his star needs more help to be able to keep strong in the final quarter. You wouldn't have guessed that he had just played 42 minutes, scored 31 points, gave out 7 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds. With little help coming from his fellow Magicians, McGrady's magic wand is getting used up at a frustrating rate for him. It's not like no one else showed up for the game though. Mike Miller had 17 points, and Shawn Kemp and Darrel Armstrong each had 12. Chicago didn't come out lame either. Jalen rose had 28, while Marcus Fizer and Rick Brunson knocked in 17. It took all 48 minutes to beat the Bulls, and the victory was only secured after Rick Brunson had a last second 3-point shot blocked. Sure your teammates are slacking, you become the hero on your home turf and the fans love you, and you love everything else. But the deal is that come playoff time these scenarios will repeat themselves, and nights like this take a good chunk out of you. Mr McGrady is wisening up, but there's not much he can do. Alas poor Grant Hill has a bad wheel. << Previous Next >> Back to archive main Back to top
