Air and Heir

In the Lakers-Wizards game last night in Washington, Jerry Stackhouse served his purpose - very well. Michael Jordan himself also showed he could still bring it when he had to, stroking in 25 points. But first, meet the new sidekick.

Jerry Stackhouse was option #1 in crunch time, and he delivered, sending the Lakers to their 3rd straight loss, 100-99. How hard was it to believe MJ wasn't the first option? The Lakers defense allowed Stackhouse a clear path to the hoop because it suspected MJ to be the hot man. Not so these days. Yet the idea of Air watching a show instead of being the show was probably a straight-out-of-comic-book scenario for Phil Jackson. But the only fantasy for L.A now is Shaq being healthy.

MJ can no longer keep up with the studs but that's why he got Stackhouse. Jerry will outscore Jordan on most nights and starts the game too, but he's still the sidekick.

Without forgetting this other guard nicknamed the Heir, Kobe Bryant scored 27 points on 8-21. Maybe it's too early to judge, but with all his magnificient talent, so far he looks just like all the other Pierces, McGradys, Iversons, Allens, and Carters.
