0 and 8 was too Lowe

After the Memphis Grizzlies lost last night to the Golden State Warriors, their head coach Sidney Lowe resigned as their head coach. For the season the Grizzlies had lost 8 straight games, no wins.

However with Mr Jerry West at the reins of the team you get the feeling resignation is just a nice way to put together everything that was happening in Memphis. Sidney Lowe probably had pressure on him from the beginning of Mr West's era.

Why do you think he kept shuffling his starting lineups. He had to find an antidote now. He didn't. So they found an antidote to relieve him of his troubles.

We now introduce Hubie Brown. Sidney Lowe's replacement. He's not even on temporary status to see how things workout (must be the West way, bold and confident, go where no one has gone before). Even before you can even finish saying "Welcome to Memp...", you hear that he's already got a 3 year 10 million dollar deal lined up.

We think we should note that he hasn't coached in the NBA since 1986 (16 years ago). Sure he's been around the game as a broadcaster, but it's a whole new school of coaching. Things have changed. Besides you can't tell us that in 16 years he did want to coach and just never got the chance.

The popular thinking here is that he didn't want to coach at all that time. How did he get his coaching juices flowing so quickly? Once again, it must be the West effect. Or is part of it due to the bling-bling? Back in '86, coaches could only dream of player-type salaries.

All that's hoped for now is that he can bring a shake up to the Bears and wake them up from their summer long hibernation.
