Kings-Timberwolves.

Without their top 2 studs, Peja Stojakovic and Chris Webber, the Scacramento Kings still helped the Timberwolves register a mark in the loss column in Minneapolis. The Minnesota fans were discontented too. They booed at the end of the game.

The Timberwolves had won the previous two meetings between the teams.

Perhaps the players too geared up for a cake walk at the site of the glaring whole in the Kings' front line positions.

Mike Bibby wouldn't have any of it though. He had so many ridiculous moves...I mean crossover moves that would make the whole Minnesota team shift to the side and give him a clear path to the tin. He had 21 points 8 assists and 4 steals.

We don't recall the refs ever calling a "carry" on any of his crossovers, but quite a good deal of them were. Sometimes the ball would hang in his hands for a nearly endless two seconds.

But that's still not where Minnesota lost this ball game; 94-84.

Plain an simply the Minnesota players probably felt they were being pulled out of the game too much. How can Kevin Garnett the #1 man play less minutes (38) than Wally Szczerbiak the 6th man (40), and nearly match the #2 and 3 man put together (Sprewell '28', Cassell '20'). We're almost at the halfway point in the season and Flip Saunders still can't find the right mix of players?

With his experience and considering he has had the same team last year this should have never been a problem. As far as I am concerned that's where their inability to rise up in the standings lie.

Last year seemed to be a promise season: we'll do it all over again and do it better. Yet apparently not in coach Saunders' book.
