The Pistons-Pacers brawl.

You'd never have thought the an incident such as the Pistons-Pacer brawl that occured last Friday, was possible in today's NBA. Maybe you envisioned that the players would have more restrain of themselves.

We never caught any of the action of what happened at the time it did, but with so many replays you just feel like you were there when it all went down.

From our part that whole incident to dip into the stands and get back at the fan was totally uncalled for. What's beer thrown at you when you're a stud in one of the most popular past times on this planet. O.K well that's just us. But from Ron Artest' part he should have known that there would be severe penalties if he went into the stands to get back at a fan.

It's bad enough retaliating against another player, but a fan!? You have to not be in tune with the workings of the whole association to make such an ill judgement.

Yes the fan was wrong for throwing the beer in the first place. But of course Ron Artest will have his share of temptations, yet at the same time you should think of what's on the line for you. He has much more at stake than the fan.

Though it's a good thing that the NBA players union is trying to reduce Ron Artest's season long suspension, it's however very deserved. I mean if the commisioner budges what message would that send to other players and to Artest. We're rooting for the commish to hold his ground.

Oh, and to everyone out there saying this incident just worsens the reputation of the city of Detroit, HoopsCorner.com has a come back for you, especially being unapologetically based in Detroit (from the D and proud):

The Palace is in Auburn Hills a 40 minute drive away from the city of Detroit. It didn't happen here. It happened there.

Auburn Hills is not even part of the immediate Metro Detroit area. If anything it's an extended area. The team just appropriated the name.
